James Wingo

James Wingo 65 passed away on February 28, 2020. Memorial services will be held at 11 oclock in the morning on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Johnny Widener officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. James was born on March 29, 1954. He grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 1972. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as a navy diver attaining the rank of Chief Petty Officer. After 15 years of service to our country, James worked in construction and helped rebuild the deck at Pearl Harbor. He also worked security at The University of Hawaii. During his high school years, James was very athletic. He participated in Tennis, Baseball and was the QB of the Dumas Demons. He married Joy in 1979 in Lake Tahoe, she preceded him in death in 2015. He is preceded in death by his father: Wilfred James Wingo on February 17, 2007. James is survived by his mother: Peggy Goodson of Dumas, TX; siblings: Debra Schuman and husband Pete of Marietta, OK, Sherry Easton of Albuquerque, NM, Gary Wingo of Sulphur, OK, Janie Wingo of Dumas, TX, Kelly Hailey and husband Brett of Dumas, TX and Misty Richardson and husband Chris of Panhandle, TX.
