James (Jimmy) Irwin Wiseman, 90, died in Dumas, TX, December 17, 2021. He was born July 10,1930 in Dalhart, Texas. He was a graduate of Dumas High School. Jimmy was the son of Irwin and Catherine Boulware Wiseman who raised him on the family farm west of Etter. He farmed the family land and sold it when he retired. He and Joyce built a beautiful home east of Dumas that he enjoyed until medical issues forced him to live his last five years at the Dumas Memorial Nursing and Rehab Center. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Joyce Wiseman of the home; daughter, Tracy and husband, Steve of Burleson; nephew, Mike and wife, Janie of Denton; one grandchild, Kristen and husband, Aaron Ewers of Orangeville, and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Simms. Jimmy was a very gentle, easy going, quiet man. He was also very generous and contributed to many causes including: World War I and World War II, the Korean Conflict, St. Jude Children's Hospital, Window on the Plains Museum of Dumas, and other charities. Farming was Jimmy's passion and he enjoyed hunting and anything western. His office and his house were evidence of his love of western art. Jimmy did not have any hunting trophies in his home but gifted his deer trophy to his brother-in-law. Jimmy and Joyce loved to travel. Destinations included Hawaii, Cancun, and the Panama Canal. He was an avid '31' card game enthusiast. Dominoes was his favorite game. Jimmy's wife, Joyce, said he was always helping people. "He never missed an opportunity to pull someone out of the snow", she said. Jimmy was a member of the Dumas First Christian Church.
