Jeanne Link Rentfro, a devoted wife, mother, and Meme passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 6, 2026, in Dumas, Texas. She was a cherished educator and beloved member of her community. Born on November 22, 1958, in Amarillo, Texas, Jeanne's life was marked by a deep commitment to her family, her faith, and her passion for teaching.

Jeanne graduated from Channing High School, earned a bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University, and became certified to teach many subjects including English, history, ESL, and elementary education. Demonstrating her dedication to lifelong learning, Jeanne earned a master’s degree from Lamar University. Mrs. Rentfro’s students were one of her greatest joys. Jeanne’s involvement in theatre and drama, especially through UIL activities in Dalhart, revealed her vibrant spirit and ability to inspire creativity in others. She lived out her purpose through the many relationships with students and “teacher friends”.

Meme Jeanne was fun, bold, intelligent, and was always up for an “adventure”. She loved her family and connected through conversation. Meme Jeanne was always so proud of the many activities her family was involved in and lived vicariously through their stories and pictures.

A prayer warrior and steadfast believer, Jeanne’s faith was a guiding light throughout her life, infusing her with strength and compassion. She loved Jesus and wanted everyone to know it. She was known to never know a stranger, effortlessly making everyone feel welcomed and valued.

Jeanne is lovingly survived by her husband of 49 years, Jim Rentfro; her daughter, Tara Bachtel and husband Jason along with their children, Talen, Bailee, Brooklyn, and Blaire; her son, Toby Jim Rentfro and his wife Toni, and their children, Tatum and Tucker; her mother, Judy Link, and her sisters, Cheri Grant and Kerri Bluhm.

She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Link.

Family, friends, and community members are invited to honor Jeanne’s memory at the following services:

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 4 o'clock to 6 o'clock in the evening at Beeson-Morrison Funeral Directors, located at 1015 S Dumas Ave, Dumas, TX 79029.

The funeral service will take place on Friday, April 10, 2026, beginning at 10:30 in the morning at the First Baptist Church, Channing, TX. Interment will follow at Channing Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. It was her wish for her funeral to be a celebration; therefore, wearing bold, vibrant colors and flower prints are encouraged.

Jeanne Link Rentfro’s legacy of compassion, dedication, and faith leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her. Her memory will be treasured by her family, friends, and students, who will forever carry forward the light she so graciously shared.
