Jelena Clytee Sartain

Jelena Clytee Sartain, 94 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Powers, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Jelena was born on March 24, 1931, in Woodville, OK to Lonzo Elmer and Terra Clytee (Powers) Jackson. She grew up in Clayton, NM where she graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Frank Sartain on March 2, 1952, in Clayton, NM and a couple years later, they moved to Dumas where they raised their children and made their home. Jelena worked at First State Bank until her retirement. She loved to sew, crochet and make quilts at the quilt shop; she was an avid seamstress. Above all, Jelena loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; brother: Paul Jackson; sister: Mary Burchett.

Jelena is survived by sons: Robbie Sartain and wife Kim of Rockwall, TX, Mark Sartain and wife Darla of Dumas, TX; daughter: Sherri Lackey and husband Tom of Duncanville, TX; grandchildren: Hayden Lackey and wife Casey, Seth Lackey and wife Natalie, Teryn Everitt and husband Shane, Marcus Sartain and wife Raquel, Kevin Sartain and wife Britni, Melissa Sartain and Emily Sartain; and great-grandchildren: Xzavian, Xzayden, Xzylin, Xzanden, Xzyla, Xzaylen, Laikin, Linzli, Copelan, Brecken, Lennox and Maddox; siblings: Joe Jackson Richard Jackson, Gene Jackson, and Martha Pruett along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
