Jo Alice Hammock, 89 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:30 in the morning on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at the Hartley Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 1:30 in the afternoon at the Sunray Church of Christ with Eddie Marvin Tubbs and Jonathan Zerby officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Jo was born on January 16, 1930 in Kenefic, Ok to Marvin and Essie Tubbs. She married Gene Hammock on October 15, 1950 in Lefors, TX and then moved to Hartley and raised their children. The couple would eventually move to Dumas in 1987 where they made their home. Jo enjoyed working in the yard with her flowers and traveling to the mountains. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored. Jo will be greatly missed by her family and friends who affectionately called her "Ma". Jo was preceded in death by her husband Gene in 2013, her parents, one son, one daughter, brother Kenneth Tubbs and sister Wyvonne Osborn. Jo is survived by her son: Lindsey Hammock and wife Michelle of Dumas, TX; daughters: Sandy Hammock of Alva, Ok and Vicki Ford and husband David of Dumas, TX; 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. The family will be at 1705 Sunset.
