John A. Ironfield

John A. Ironfield, 80, of Dumas, TX, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025. Private family services will be held at a later date.

John was born August 16, 1944, in Fall River, Massachusetts to John H. and Doris L. (Breault) Ironfield. In July of 1962, John enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with an MOS of 3531. He was honorably discharged after 12 years and moved to California where he met Mariana Madrid and eventually moved to Dumas, TX. They were married on June 18, 1981. They would together raise their children, while John worked for the City of Cactus.

He was a very dedicated worker and family man. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Over the years, they collected many items including the memories spent with dad/grandad. John was of the Catholic faith and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Doris Ironfield.

He is survived by his wife, Mariana, and daughters: Jennifer Ironfield, Doris Ironfield and significant other, Adam Ramos all of Amarillo, TX, Jessica Ironfield and husband David Aguinaga of Dumas, TX. John is also survived by his 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as many numerous other family and friends.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
