Johnny Lynn Harris of Dumas, Texas went to be with his lord and savior on March 21, 2026. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at Temple Baptist Church with Chris Fobbs, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.
Johnny was born on September 12, 1944, in Dumas, Texas to AJ and Edna Harris. Johnny was a master of machinery, artist of the landscape, genius of a farmer, and a legacy mentor to his children and grandchildren. He started his career straight out of high school where he joined his father and grandfather in their passion of farming. During the Vietnam War escalation of 1964 Johnny enlisted in the U.S. Army to serve his country during an uncertain time. Johnny loved the esthetics of a well manicured farm, machinery and a well cared for family. He spent countless hours mastering his crafts, playing the steel guitar, flying his Piper twin comanche airplane and producing some of the best crops in the country. Johnny was a caretaker, caring for the land and everything in his life, he truly believed if you took care of something it would last forever. Johnny was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he attended faithfully.
Johnny is preceded in Death by his beloved Son Michael Harris, Father AJ Harris, Mother Edna Harris, daughter Manda Randolph, Granddaughter Alli Dimarco, and Great Granddaughter Emma Preston.
Johnny is survived by his wife Donna Harris, daughter Sheryl Cox and Husband JD of Dumas, daughter Regina Dimarco and Husband Jimmy of Dumas, Daughter Tonya Petty of Livermore California, Grandson Chandler Preston and wife Natasha of Dumas, grandson Ryan Cox and wife Dannah of Mount Enterprise Texas, Grandson Ethan Cox and wife Caitlyn of Stratford, Granddaughter Kaitlyn Cox of Dumas, Grandaughter, Chandace Baldwin and husband Chase of Dumas, Grandaughter Chelsea Dimarco, Grandson Jimmy Dimarco of Dumas, Grandaughter Shaylee Stewart and Bobby Braswell of Canadian, Grandaughter Bailee Fox, Grandson Tyler Petty and wife Kinsey of Amarillo, along with numerous great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
