Jose Angel Serrato

Jose Angel Serrato, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Iglesia Bautista Hispana. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Morrison Funeral Directors. Jose was born on August 13, 1943 in Durango, Mexico to Trinidad and Maria Luisa (Saucedo) Serrato. He had been a resident of Dumas for the past 36 years. He married Juanita on August 2, 1972; she preceded him in death in 2015. He married Blanca on January 12, 2017 in Dumas, TX. Jose was a religious man who enjoyed going to church and reading his bible. In his younger years, he loved to sing and do crossword puzzles. He was a member of Primer Iglesia Bautista and will be greatly missed. In addition to his first wife Juanita, he was also preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren: Jorge Murga and Reyna Serrato. He is survived by his wife, Blanca Estella Serrato of the home; children: Juanita Murga and husband Jesus of Dumas, Martin Serrato and wife Vickie of New Mexico, Felix Diaz and wife Letty of Amarillo, Jose Angel Serrato and wife Elida of San Antonio, Leon Sanchez and wife Gloria of Amarillo, Juan Serrato and wife Dora of Houston, Elsa Serrato of Kansas and Evangelino Pantoja of El Paso; 25 grandchildren and 46 great grandchildren.
