Joyce Crain, 70, of Dumas, died Tuesday, October 24, 2006 in Amarillo. Services will be held Friday, October 27, 2006, at 10:00 AM in the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Kevin Anderson, pastor of First Assembly of God in Stratford, officiating and Rev. Damon Akins, pastor of First Assembly of God in Dumas assisting. Burial will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Crain was born November 10, 1935, in Mangum, NM to Leo and Bertie Baumann. She married Willmer Crain February 2, 1952, in Borger, TX and while living there, she ran a snow cone truck until moving to Dumas in 1968. She worked as a bookkeeper for Midwest Implements for 15 years and for the Channing School until she retired in May of 2001. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Dumas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Bertie Baumann; her husband, Willmer Crain; her step-mother, Alice Baumann; one sister, Jo Newland and a granddaughter, Tara Crain. Survivors include two sons, Terry Crain and wife, Cindy of Holcomb, KS and David Crain and wife, Debbie of Channing, TX; one daughter, Karen Shelton and husband, Carl of Amarillo; one sister, Kay Crawford and husband Mark of Dumas; one brother, Johnny Baumann and wife, Nancy of Garland, TX; nine grandchildren, Melissa, John, Danon, Matt, Brad, Kayle, Steven, Chase and Dakota; three great-grandsons; many nieces and nephews; many good and loving neighbors and a wonderful, loving church family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, October 26, 2006, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The family will be at 321 Oak in Dumas and request memorials to Olivia's Angels, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
