Chris Gallegos born 1954, Jimmy 1957, Kiki 1961 & me-Mary 1967. Kiki was dad's favorite & I was y mom's - no argument from any of us, even though Mom & Dad always said there were no favs. My mom always made my sister take me with her; she hated that & was a brat on purpose! My sister was my best friend & I always wanted to be like her. She was very athletic, musically talented, had style, & people gravitated towards her; she even had pretty flourishing, cursive handwriting! I remember: Kiki giving me 'airplane rides'= lay on her back > her feet on my tummy > lift 'camping & tents' in our bedroom - we would hide together when my brothers or dad had their epileptic seizures; when my dad would yell at my brothers, or read books at night w/our flashlights. I hated her hand-me-downs EXCEPT I couldn't wait until I could go through Holy Communion & get rid of my hats to get my sister's white veil...Roman Catholic church tradition abolished that tradition (b00!) and Latin mass (yay!) before my Holy Communion. I could go on & on about what we did together growing up. Our relationship & contact would ebb like a tide: grow apart or be constant through life of relationships/ marriages, divorces, kids, and death of our brother, Grandma (Sally), mom, then dad, Aunty Susie, and the most painful of losing a child, Claro. We had more laughs than tears. I cannot text, message, or call but you are always with me - your love, compassion, laughter I hope I will always remember hearing you say to me, ' Oh Mare, I miss you. I love you.' Kiki-nukes, I love you & miss you more. Mare
