Kelly Mark Voos, 63 of Dumas, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Troy Scroggins officiating. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock in the evening on Monday at the funeral home.
Kelly was born on June 27, 1960, in Russell, KS to Jacob and Myrt (Burns) Voos. At an early age, the family moved to Dumas where he attended school and graduated from Dumas High School. Kelly married Kelly Lee on March 16, 1985, in Dumas where they made their home and raised their children. Kelly grew up around the Dumas Fire Department and shortly after graduation, he became a volunteer firefighter and served Dumas for over 20 years. He later went to work for Conoco Phillips and retired after 35 years as a Rotating Equipment Specialist. While working for Conoco Phillips, he stayed continually active in firefighting and taught several courses that included: Texas A & M Fire Academy, high angle rescue along with search and rescue. He was also the director of Phillps 66 Emergency Response in Borger. Kelly enjoyed fishing, hunting, building guns, making his own ammunition, and working on cars. He was also very patriotic. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his father and a grandson, Jacob Kelly Voos.
Kelly leaves behind his wife, Kelly of the home; mother: Myrt Feagley of Amarillo, TX; daughter: Brooke Klatt of Amarillo, TX; son: Keegan Voos and wife Jessica of Lubbock, TX; son in law: Nathan Klatt of Hale Center, TX; grandchildren: Emma, Eli, Karlee, Robert, Olivia, Garrett, and Finley. He is also survived by his sister Rayna Henderson and husband Bill of Amarillo, TX along with numerous other extended family members.
