Kenneth was welcomed into Heaven after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. To so many, Kenneth was a man impossible to forget—full of love, loyalty, humor, and a heart that was always ready to help.

He was known by many names, and every one of them told a story. To his parents and siblings, he was Ken. To his nieces and nephews, he was Uncle Kenneth or affectionately, “Kick”. To friends and nearly everyone who knew him, he was Tiny. To his wife, Sammy, he was lovingly called “KENNETH!!!” often yelled in a humorous, annoyed way that always carried love underneath it. But Kenneth’s favorite title of all was the one that mattered most to him: “Dad,” given to him by his daughter, Whitney.

Kenneth was passionate about Whitney and everything she was involved in. He didn’t just support her—he poured himself into her world with pride. Whether serving as a band booster and even president for a time, cheering her on from the crowd, or sitting in the audience for every play and musical, Kenneth was always there. He didn’t want to miss a moment, and Whitney always knew she had her dad in her corner.

Kenneth was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone at the drop of a hat. He was a protector, a helper, a steady presence, and a true friend. He was universally loved, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him knew they could count on him—no questions asked.

He also had a fun-loving side that people will smile about forever. Kenneth loved scaring kids at Halloween, learning random and useful things on Youtube, and tackling projects around the house, kind of work that made a home feel cared for and full of life.

Though his fight with cancer was short, Kenneth never wanted to give up. Even so, he faced the outcome with peace, because he knew where his eternity would be—in Heaven with Jesus. His faith carried him, and he held tightly to the promise of everlasting life.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sammy Horton, and his parents, Kris and Clyde Horton.

He is survived by his daughter, Whitney Horton of the home; sisters: Gwen Stewart and husband Roger of Amarillo, TX; Pam Copeland and husband John of Edwards, MO; numerous other extended family members.

Kenneth leaves behind a legacy of deep love, unwavering faith, service to others, and devotion to family. His absence will be felt every day, but his impact will remain forever in the lives of those who loved him.
