LaQuitta Jo Walthall

LaQuitta Jo Walthall, 79, of Dumas, passed away on Friday, January 26, 2018. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 10 o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Anthony Inman, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. LaQuitta was born in Leila Lake, Texas on May 6, 1938 to Travis Fain and Naoma Mae (Morris) Reeves. She had been a resident of Dumas since 1956 where she met and married her husband Johnny on March 28, 1957. He preceded her in death in 2007. LaQuitta was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dumas. She was a homemaker for most of her life and enjoyed working in arts and crafts. LaQuitta also loved to collect Beanie Babies. She was an excellent seamstress and was a loving mom and 'Grammy' to her family. Laquitta will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband she is also preceded in death by her parents. LaQuitta is survived by her children; daughters Kelli Walthall and La Jonna Perkins both of San Antonio, TX; son: John Walthall of Dumas; grandchildren: Clinton Fewell of San Antonio, TX, Derek Perkins of Austin, TX, Christopher Perkins and Hanna Perkins both of San Antonio, John Matthew Walthall and JoDee Walthall both of Amarillo, TX, and Kara Walthall of Dumas, TX. She is also survived by 2 great grandchildren. The family suggests with gratitude memorials be made to a favorite charity.
