Larry Joe Monroe

Larry Joe Monroe, 78 of Dumas passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, April 13, 2020 surrounded by his family. A Graveside Service will be held at 2 oclock in the afternoon on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Dalhart Memorial Park in Dalhart, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Larry was born in Dalhart, TX on September 14, 1941 to Robert and Billie Monroe. He was a long-time resident of Dumas, TX for 55 years. Larry married Margie Adele Reilman on June 22, 1963 in Clayton, NM. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, two brothers, Don Monroe and Mark Monroe, one sister, Mary Ellen Wardell, and two nieces. Larry is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margie Monroe, a daughter, Melodie Adcock of Amarillo, a grandson, Brayden Adcock of Dumas and a granddaughter, Morgan Adcock of Dumas. Larry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Before his retirement, he was employed as an automotive mechanic at Edwards Chrysler Plymouth and Dodge.
