Lee F Sheppard

Lee F. Sheppard, 86, of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, December 29, 2017 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Lee was born December 02, 1931 in West Monroe, LA, to Sam and Irma (Jeans) Sheppard. He moved to Dumas in 1981 and met Janis Webb. They married July 3, 1982 and made Dumas their home. Lee was a heavy haul truck driver and loved to collect rocks on his travels for 'Mamaw's' garden. He loved to go hunting and fishing and spend time with family. Lee will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Lee was a member of First Baptist Church in Dumas. In addition to his parents, Lee is preceded in death by a brother; Sam Sheppard, and a sister; Mary Ann Duckawitz. Lee is survived by his wife Janis of the home: sister: Joy Rumbo of Sacremento, CA; brother-in-law Billy Webb of Lubbock: and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests, with gratitude, that memorials be made to Memorial Hospice of Dumas, 224 East 2nd, Dumas, TX or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
