Lois Maye Barton

Lois Maye Barton, 83 of Dumas passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2024. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 9, 2024. at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Chris Fobbs, pastor of Temple Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Lois was born on June 28, 1940, in Cement, OK to Alfred and Dorothy (Cook) Tullos. She married Coy G. Barton on August 20, 1955, in Clovis, NM; he preceded her in death in 1996. Lois was employed with Contel Telephone Company for 35 years until her retirement.   She loved traveling and reading. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and by her stepfather, Waco Fears who raised her; son: Scotty Barton; and 6 sisters.

Lois is survived by her sons: Coy Barton Jr. and wife Brenda of Amarillo, TX, Kim Barton and wife Vicki of Midland, TX and Danny Barton and wife Tracy of Odessa, TX; sister: Joyce Russell of Dumas, TX; 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
