Lois Meemaw Smith

Lois "Meemaw" Smith, 77 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019. The funeral service will be held at 11 oclock in the morning on Monday, October 14, 2019 at Morrison Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will received friends from 6 oclock until 8 oclock in the evening on Sunday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Lois was born thirty minutes after her twin sister Shirley on September 30, 1942 in Dumas, TX to Carl and Opal (Morris) Henderson. She grew up and attended school in Pampa before returning to Dumas where she worked in the medical field. Lois loved to gamble, going to casinos and scratch off tickets. Her biggest joy, however, was her family. Lois was preceded in death by her parents and sisters. Lois is survived by her children: Carlos Lee Smith of Eugene, OR, Karla Smith of Dumas, TX and Jeremy Brazeal and wife Lori of Dumas, TX; granddaughter: Heather Duby of Amarillo, TX; great grandchildren: Kalor and Adleigh of Amarillo, TX; aunt: Ruth Tucker of Friona, TX and numerous other extended family members. The family suggests with gratitude that in lieu of customary remembrances, memorials be made to the MNRC patient activity fund, 302 E. 2nd, Dumas TX 79029.
