Manuel Artalejo, Sr.

Manuel Artalejo Sr, 93, of Dumas, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2017. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Iglesia Bautista Hispana in Dumas with Rev. Jose Maria Molina, pastor of Iglesia Del Nombre de Jesus Cristo, officiating. Interment will follow at the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Manuel was born on March 11, 1924 in Mexico to Jose Maria and Nicolaza (Villa) Artalejo. He married the love of his life Magdalena Sinecio in December of 1946 in Mexico. Manuel was a member of the Iglesia Del Nombre de Jesus Cristo Church in Dumas. Manuel enjoyed gardening and attending church. He read his bible, prayed daily and enjoyed singing the old hymns. He is preceded in death by his parents; sons: Isidro and Angel Artalejo; grandson: Gabe Leal; and granddaughters: Angelita Orozco and Irene Leal. Manuel is survived by his wife, Magdalena of the home, children: Carlos Artalejo and wife Olivia of Odessa, Martha Leal and husband Cassie, Ofelia Hernandez and husband Charlie, Arjelia Cruz, Sylvia Montez and husband Felipe, and Manuel Artalejo Jr. all of Dumas, Norena Bustamante and husband Pablo of Ferris, and Araceli Vasquez and husband Ramon of Dumas; sisters: Ignacia Ouintana of Arizona, Magdalena Avila and Belia Razcon both of Mexico; brothers: Albino Artalejo of Las Vegas, NV and Jose Artalejo of Mexico; and 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
