Martin Gallegos

Martin Gallegos Jr., 61 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Zane Powers officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock in the afternoon until 7 o’clock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home.

Martin was born on May 3, 1964, in Friona, TX to Armando Gallegos and Sarah Herrera. He grew up in Hereford where he graduated from Hereford High School in 1982. After graduation, Martin moved to Dumas where he married Olga Silva on September 25, 1989. He went to work for Dumas Independent School District for 21 years and later at First Baptist Church until his retirement. Martin loved family nights; playing board games and Texas No Limits Hold em. He was also a big Dallas Cowboy fan and enjoyed hiking and fishing. Martin’s greatest times were spent with his family at Red River, NM, his heaven on earth.

Martin is preceded in death by his wife Olga and his brother Darren.

Martin leaves behind his parents: Armando Gallegos of Dumas, TX and Sarah Salas of Dumas, TX; children: Lisa Barraza, Julian Barraza, Raquel Vasquez and husband Eric and Martin Lee Gallegos and wife Crystal, all of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Eric Vasquez Jr. and wife Leena, Dezarae Vasquez, Elias Barraza, Sophie Barraza, Gabriella Barraza and Maleeyah Gallegos; great grandchildren: Eric Vasquez III, Elijah Vasquez and Michael Vasquez; siblings: Amanda Fulton and husband Andrew of Pennsylvania and Adam Lee Gallegos and wife Antonia of Arizona, Zulema Herrera; along with numerous other extended family members.
