Marvin J. Floyd, 78, of Mineola, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in Tyler. Graveside services will be held Friday, August 25, 2006, at 3:00 PM at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Dumas, TX, with Rev. Winfred Walker, staff minister of Morrison Funeral Directors officiating. Mr. Floyd was born November 27, 1927, in Paducah, TX. He lived in the Panhandle area most of his life, moving to Mineola in 1997. He owned and operated Spearman Industrial Engines from 1965 until his retirement in 1997. He loved to fish and hunt. He was preceded in death by a son: Marvin Michael Floyd in 1949; two daughters: Julie Hall in 1993 and Beverly Sanders in 2001 and one granddaughter: Jennifer White in 2005. Survivors include: his wife, Mary Ann Floyd of the home; one daughter, Vanessa Barrow and husband, Rick of Dumas; one step-daughter, Anne Lewis of Plano, TX; two step-sons, Tom Geyer and Keith Sabado of Brookland, NY and Frank Geyer of Mesquite, TX; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and his faithful companion, his lab, Evie. The family requests donations to a favorite charity. The family will be at 704 Bennett in Dumas.
