Mary Sue McKee

Mary Sue McKee, 86 of Dumas, passed away on November 13, 2025. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at First Christian Church with Pastor Darrell Waite, officiating.

Sue, as she was known, was born on September 22, 1939, in Dalhart, TX to George and Mary Lee Batis. She married Jack McKee on June 3, 1958, in Dumas, TX. Sue was a dedicated homemaker and loved to crochet; she was famous for her crocheted scrubbies. She also enjoyed playing the piano and played for several churches through the years. In her spare time, she volunteered at the hospital in the gift shop. Sue loved to visit with everyone and you were instantly made to feel at home in her presence. She loved to cook and no visitor was allowed to even begin to get hungry. Sue was a member of the First Christian Church and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gary and Joe Batis

Sue is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jack; son, Mark McKee and wife Andrea of Hereford, AZ; daughter, Jackie Carmichael and husband David of Seffner, FL; 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren.
