Matthew Santos Encinias entered his heavenly home on May 14, 2026. Born on February 21, 2003, to Paul and Janice Encinias, Matthew was raised in Dumas, Texas, alongside his three siblings, Selena, Meagan, and Paul. Matthew attended and graduated from North Plains Opportunity Center in Dumas, Texas. He had a love for music, art, and adventure, and enjoyed playing guitar, drawing, traveling, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with his friends and family. Matthew was known for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and the smile he carried wherever he went. He had a special way of making every moment feel lighthearted, silly, and full of joy, leaving lasting memories with everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving mother, Janice Encinias; his siblings, Selena Dove and husband Aaron Dove, Meagan Encinias and companion Jeremy Coleman, Paul Encinias and R.J. Huff; his cherished niece, Ava Hope Encinias; and nephew, Amryn Paul Dove. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Melissa Dominguez and husband Adon of Clayton, New Mexico, Bernadette Encinias of Clayton, New Mexico, and Ralph Encinias of Clayton, New Mexico, along with many beloved cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Matthew was preceded in death by his loving father, Paul Encinias; his grandmother, Viola Encinias; and his uncle, Dario Encinias.
Though Matthew’s time on earth was far too short, the love, laughter, and memories he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
Funeral services will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Bruce Broxson officiating. Interment will follow in Clayton Cemetery in Clayton, NM under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock in the evening on Thursday at the funeral home.
