Mercedes G. Tarango

Mercedes G. Tarango, 65 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Mercedes was born on August 5, 1956, in O’Donnell, TX to Geronimo and Modesta (Morales) Gutierrez. She married Porfirio Tarango in 1981 in Dumas, TX. Mercedes had worked at the Moore County News Press as Circulation Manager and Dumas Insurance Agency. In her spare time, she loved gardening and baking. Mercedes was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Yolanda Gutierrez. Mercedes is survived by her loving husband Porfirio, of the home; children: Natalie Tarango, Deanna Tarango and husband Paul of Amarillo, TX, P.J. Tarango, and Christopher Tarango and wife Areli all of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Angel Madrigal, Yovanni Acatitlan, Eliana Jacquez, Alicia Jacquez, Antonio, Jacquez, Vincent Tarango, and Victoria Violeta Tarango; brothers: John Gutierrez and wife Lois of Dumas, TX and Geronimo Gutierrez, Jr. of Amarillo, TX.
