Michelle Olivarez, 47 of Dumas, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2022.  Memorial services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Friday, September 16, 2022, at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Hight officiating.  Interment will follow in Northlawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Michelle was born on October 4, 1974, in Liberal, KS to Jerry and Sheryl (Frownfelter) Moore.  She grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 1993.  During her high school years, she was very active in FFA and 4-H showing steers and pigs.  Michelle went on to receive her teacher’s degree from West Texas University and taught school in Channing for two years and also taught at Dumas High School.  Michelle was very giving of her time and would volunteer for numerous organizations including the Special Olympics.  She was also a paramedic for over 10 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.  

Michelle was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert and her sister Judy Moore.

Michelle is survived by her children: Steven Olivarez of Dumas TX, Stephanie Alarcon and husband Ryan of Dumas, TX, Ricky Stewart and wife Dakota of San Diego, CA, Valorie Stewart and fiancé Ruben Valdez of Dumas, TX and Alayna Olivarez and fiancé Joshua Joslyn of Dumas, TX; grandchildren: Zoey Zambrano, Zailyn Olivarez, Elijah Valdez, Jaide Valdez, Emily Alarcon  and Kane Valdez; parents: Jerry and Sheryl Moore of Dumas, TX; sister: Pam Sullivan, husband Jeremy and their child Afton along with numerous nieces and nephews.
