Mike Raymond

September 24, 1962 — March 30, 2026

Sunray

Michael Dean Raymond went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 30, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his adoring family.

He was born on September 24, 1962, to Dan and Ruthie Raymond. Mike graduated from Sunray High School in 1981 and went on to earn an associate degree of Applied Science Mechanical Electrical Technology from TSTI in Amarillo.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Ramonda; his sons, Aaron Raymond and wife Ellis, Nathan Raymond and wife Brittany, and Kyler Raymond; and his six cherished grandchildren, Madison, Mackenzie, Camden, Natalie, Emmett, and Pierce. He is also survived by his sister, Cindy Morton and husband Stanley; his brother, Steve Raymond and wife Bonnie; and nine nieces and nephews: Jonathan Raymond (Jessica), Ashley Ingram (Brad), Blake Cartrite (Alicia), Neil Raymond (Breeanna), Todd Cartrite (Erin), Dani Bromlow (Dustin), Meridith Yarnold (Kade), Brokk Baldwin (Kylie), and Jhett Baldwin.

Mike will be remembered by all who knew him as a faithful servant—one who didn’t just speak of his faith, but lived it with consistency, humility, and conviction in every area of his life.

Mike had a radiant smile, a vibrant laugh, and a wit and charm that drew people in wherever he went. He carried a quiet wisdom, and when he spoke, people leaned in to listen.

Above all, Mike was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. As a longtime member of Sunray Baptist Church, he served faithfully as a deacon, taught Sunday School, and gave his time to countless areas of ministry. Even in his battle with cancer, Mike saw every moment as an opportunity to share the hope of Christ—encouraging fellow patients, nurses, doctors, and hospital staff with the same steady faith that defined his life. He was a true spiritual leader to his family, his church, and his community.

Mike was deeply devoted to his family. A faithful husband, a loving father and a hardworking provider, he gave generously of his time, energy, and love to those closest to him. He farmed for over 40 years, taking great pride in his work and especially cherishing the years spent alongside his father, Dan, as well as working with his brother Steve and nephew Jonathan. As his family grew, Mike poured himself into his sons’ lives—coaching Little League teams, cheering them on from the sidelines, and faithfully encouraging them in every season. He took much pride and joy in being Popa to his cherished grandkids. He remained a steady mentor, a source of wisdom, and a constant example of integrity and faith to his family and beyond.

A memorial service will be held in Mike’s honor at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Sunray Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Houston, pastor of the church, officiating. The family will have a private burial in Lane Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Family and friends are invited to gather as we celebrate the life and legacy of a man who faithfully loved God, led his family well, and served his community with honor.
