Naomi Ruth Cash

February 9, 1935 — January 20, 2019

Naomi has stepped into eternity to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Charles Cash, her parents Sam and Golda Barley, brothers Burl, Paul, and Wesley Barley, sisters Nathalie Purvis, and Aleene Richards, and grandson Stoney Glover. She is survived by her daughters Ruth and Rick Friend, Janice Wyatt, and Charlotte Cash, sisters Joyce and P.L. Burrell, and Alice Kay and Ron Grundy, along with grandsons Colonel Gary Beau Rafnson US Air Force, Jonathan Rafnson, and Captain Dylan Rafnson US Army, along with 17 great grandchildren. Naomi never met a stranger, and was loved by many. She was a long term active member of the Red Hat Society, and a long-time member of Temple Baptist Church which was dear to her heart. She genuinely loved people and took wonderful care of her own aging mother. Naomi was a self-taught expert at crocheting, sewing, and arts and crafts, sharing her handmade creations with anyone who asked. In her younger years, she was an assistant manager/coach for several youth girls' softball teams, and was always a vocal fan, cheering on the teams and traveling to every single game, never missing one. She had a love for gardening and yardwork, cooking for her family, and raising her daughters to be strong women. She raised them in the First Baptist Church and taught them at home about God. Her favorite thing was spending time with her daughters. She retired from Walmart in 1994 as a department manager in fabrics where she had worked for nine years. Naomi was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, aunt, and daughter. She will be greatly missed. Special thanks to Memorial Home Hospice and the excellent care they facilitated. Graveside services are Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 1 PM at the Dumas Cemetery. Memorial and celebration of life service will be Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2 PM at The Door Church in Dumas, officiated by Pastor Aaron Saavedra.
