Omer Gonzales De Leon

Omer Gonzales De Leon, 61 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 19, 2025, at Grace Thru Faith with Pastor Trey Wooten, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock in the afternoon until 7 o’clock in the evening at Morrison Memorial Chapel on Thursday.

Omer was born on September 24, 1964, to Manuel and Gracie De Leon. He grew up in Corpus Christi where he graduated from Tuloso-Midway High School. Omer moved to Dumas in 2003 on a three-month contract for Dynamic Industry where he worked as a Superintendent of Maintenance. During those three months, he met Minerva Sanchez and never left Dumas. He married Minerva on September 10, 2005, in Corpus Christi and the couple made Dumas home where they raised their two daughters.

Omer was a hardworking handyman that could fix anything. He believed in being honest and his word was his bond. Omer’s thoughts and actions were always of others as he was a very caring and selfless man. He enjoyed walking his bulldog Rocky and watching Nascar on Sunday afternoons. Omer loved people, making barbecue and catering to friends and family. He also enjoyed a good night of fellowship and playing games with family friends. Omer was a servant of the Lord and loved his Grace Thru Faith family as well. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Omer was preceded in death by his daughters: Abigail Ismerai De Leon and Kaitlyn “Rainbow” De Leon; brother: Jason De Leon and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Omer is survived by his wife, Minerva De Leon of the home; daughter: Laisha De Leon of Dumas, TX; parents: Manuel and Gracie De Leon of Sinton, TX; brothers and sisters: Manuel De Leon Jr. and wife Donna of Corpus Christi, TX, Alex De Leon and wife Alejandra of Mexico, Monica De Leon and husband Richard, Orlando De Leon and wife Jessica and Arnold De Leon and wife Amanda all of Corpus Christi, TX along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
