Paul Michael Chavez

Paul Michael Chavez, 67 of Dumas passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Ronnie Krebbs, officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends at Morrison Memorial Chapel from 6 o'clock to 8 o'clock in the evening on Friday. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Paul was born on March 26 1956, in California to Pablo and Anita (Reyna) Chavez. He graduated from Gallup High School and later served his country honorably in the United States Navy.  Paul moved to Dumas and began working at Valero as a biller and loader.  He had worked there for over 43 years.   On May 29, 1987 he married Jeanette Gonzales in Dumas, TX. Paul enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and going to the casinos.  He was of Christian Faith and will be greatly missed. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother: Ruben Chavez.

Paul is survived by his wife, Jeanette, of the home; children: Samantha Chavez of Amarillo, TX, Jacob Chavez and wife Bonitta of Dumas, TX, Victoria Chavez of Dumas, TX, Vicente Chavez of Clayton, NM, Paula Chavez of Clayton, NM, and Michelle Carillo of Albuquerque, NM; sister: Cecilia Paiz of Gallup, NM; brothers: David Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, Gilbert Chavez of Albuquerque, NM, Raymond Chavez of Gallup, NM, and John Chavez of Gallup, NM; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
