Ralph James Hampton, 65 of Kerrick, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. A register book will be available for guests to sign on Friday January 9, 2026, from 3 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening at the funeral home in Stratford, the casket will remain closed. A memorial service will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at First Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. Private burial will take place in the Stratford Cemetery under the direction of Beeson Morrison Funeral Directors.
Ralph was born on October 12, 1960, in Dumas, TX to Ralph and Minnie (Crabtree) Hampton. He grew up in Kerrick and graduated from Stratford High School. After graduation, he stayed home to farm with his parents and sister. Ralph loved to farm and fish. He also enjoyed being around children and teaching them anything and everything he knew to include hunting, welding and mechanicing. There was nothing Ralph couldn’t do. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Mike Wells.
Ralph is survived by his sisters: Nora Wells of Stratford, TX and Annette Hampton of Kerrick, TX; nephew: Parker Wells and his children Jacob and Chloe, all of Colorado Springs, CO along with numerous other extended family members.
