Ramon Murga

Ramon Murga, 76 of Dumas passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2022. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Sunday, January 9, 2022, at Morrison Memorial Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Garcia as celebrant. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Murga will be available for viewing on Saturday from 4 o’clock until 8 o’clock, Sunday from 12 o’clock until 8 o’clock and Monday from 8 o’clock until 1 o’clock.

Ramon was born on August 29, 1945, in Santa Maria Del Oro, Durango, MX to Marcos and Luisa (Murga) Nevarez. He married Consuelo on May 17, 1970, in Mexico. He was an excellent carpenter and wood worker and after moving to Dumas, he was the owner of A & M Roofing. He later worked for JBS for 10 years until his retirement. Ramon loved being outdoors and spending time on his land with his wife, grandkids and his animals. Ramon was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and will be missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: brothers: Jose Murga, Jesus Murga, Alberto Murga, Candelario Nevarez, and Nicasio Nevarez.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Consuelo Murga of the home; daughter: Maria Luisa Arriaga and husband Oscar of Dumas; sons: Juan Murga and wife Tania of Hensen, CA, Raul Murga and Judith Morales of West Haven, UT; grandchildren: Ramon, Abraham, Marko, Roman, Kenneth, Juan, Jr., Kevin, Johnatha, Kriss, Joanna; great-granddaughter and his pride and joy: Yuritza Arriaga; brothers: Antonio Murga, Soledad Murga, Marcos Nevarez, Jr., Guadalupe Nevarez, Armando Diaz, and several brothers and sisters; a dear cousin: Nicolas Nevarez.
