Raymond Sasser - 72
Raymond Sasser, 72, of Dumas, died Thursday, October 5, 2006, in Amarillo, Texas. Services will be held Monday, October 9, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the First Assembly of God Church, Dumas, Texas with Rev. Damon Akins, officiating. Burial will be held at Dumas Cemetery, Dumas, Texas.
Mr. Sasser was born March 6, 1934, in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. He was a self-employed welder since 1957. He owned and operated Sasser Welding. Prior to living in Dumas, he was a resident of Spearman. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Dumas, Texas. He married Evelyn Harris on April 13, 1952, in Wellington, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 2, 1992.
He is survived by three daughters, Sherry Harper and Tammy Brian, both of Dumas, Texas; Vicki McNeir of Amarillo, Texas; three sons, Richard Sasser of Spearman, Texas, Ronnie Sasser of Amarillo, Texas, and Deon Sasser of King George, Virginia; two brothers, Melvin Sasser of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and Joe Dean Sasser of Waco, Texas; two sisters, Dorothy Sharp of Claude, Texas, and Delores Phelan of Ruidoso, New Mexico; 27 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin Sasser and Bill Teakell and two sisters, Louise Johnson and Elsie Burkhalter.
Family will be at 1416 S. Meredith, Dumas.
