Refugio "Cuco" Aguilar Lujan

Refugio “Cuco” Aguilar Lujan, 69 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025. An evening service is scheduled for 7 o'clock in the evening on Monday, June 16, 2022, at Primera Iglesia Bautista. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Primera Iglesia Bautista with Pastor Jesus Rivera, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Refugio was born on July 4, 1955, in Ojinaga Chihuahua Mexico to Nemecio and Margarita (Lujan) Aguilar. He married Amada Navarrete and the couple moved to Dumas where they made their home. Refugio was a devoted father and grandfather who had a passion for singing at church and playing his guitar. He enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, loved watching boxing and singing with his son Julian. Refugio was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Dumas and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife Stephanie.

Refugio is survived by his first wife Amada Navarette of the home; daughters: Yesenia Aguilar, Linda Martinez and Melissa Ciprian and husband Matias all of Dumas, TX; sons: Julian Aguilar and wife Irene of Dumas, TX and Refugio Aguliar Jr and wife Erika of Ackerly, TX; grandchildren: Nohemi Ramirez and husband Carlos, Julian Aguilar Jr., Jonathan Aguilar, Anthony Aguilar, Roman Aguilar, Aguilar, Abigail and husband Alex, Isaac Lopez and wife Lupita, Melissa Griffin and husband Gary, Crystal Lopez, Jackie Aguilar, Jayla Ciprian, Joel Ciprian, Oscar and Evan; brothers: Paz and Jose; sisters: Francisca, Olivia and Maria; 16 great grandchildren along with numerous other extended family members.
