Robert M. Bob Sweny

Robert "Bob" M. Sweny, 94 of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Bob was born on March 24, 1925 in Stratford, TX to Guy and Mary (Dortch) Sweny. Bob grew up in the Spurlock community north of Sunray and attended school in Sunray. He would go on to graduate from West Texas College. Bob honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and then served again during the Korean Conflict. Bob worked as a technical writer in both the aviation and oil industry writing manuals. He married Trudy on August 28, 1972 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada; she preceded him in death in 2002. In addition to his wife, Bob is also preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Flo, Bill, Ruby, Jim and Carol. Bob is survived by his son: Rick Dearman of Lafayette, LA; step children: Charlie Auger of Moses Lake, Washington and Lori Williams of Sagle, Idaho; grandchildren: Ryan, Monica, Robert, Christian and Sherie; two great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
