Rohnda Dale Poteet, 68 of Channing passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. A Graveside Service is scheduled for 10:30 in the morning on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at Channing Cemetery with Jacob Vincent, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4 o’clock to 6 o’clock on Monday at Beeson Funeral Directors. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson Funeral Directors.

Born to Dale Roger and Betty Jo Bacot Edwards on July 27, 1955. Rohnda attended Channing School where she played basketball and later served as basketball manager and participated in other academic activities and graduated in 1973. She attended Clarendon College after High School. 

Growing up she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Channing, Channing 4-H Group, and contributed to recipes published in the 4-H Cookbook, she enjoyed riding horses. She served as Matador Queen for a year during the Matador Reunion. Later she cherished and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter Peyton, making jewelry, floral arrangements, crafting and spending time with family and friends.

She worked for Borden’s Dairy Corporate Office in Amarillo, before starting with Diamond Shamrock. She was employed by Diamond Shamrock/Valero for 33 years and transferred to San Antonio in 1983, where she remained until her retirement in 2010. She was a devoted and loving mother to her son Bradley Ray Poteet and a devoted and loving grandmother to Peyton Poteet, they were her world.

Rohnda was preceded in death by her father, one Brother Rodney Euguene Edwards, one Brother-In-Law Jackie Glen Maupin; her grandparents Paschal E. (Pat) and Lou E. (Billie) Edwards, and Raymond and Edith Bacot; one Great Niece, Elahna Bea Mason.

She is survived by her son Brad, granddaughter Petyon, her mother, and her sister Renee Mason; Nephews; Roger Earl Elliot, Will Glen Maupin, Dustin Dale Maupin and wife Stephanie, and Phillip Allen Mason. Great Nephew; Jack Dillion Maupin and Great Nieces; Haylee Tucker and husband Justin, Laycee Maupin, Kynlee Maupin, Jade Mason, and Laynie Maupin; Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
