Rose Watson, 86 of Dumas, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at The First Assembly of God with Pastor Damon Akins and Pastor Steve Huckins, officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends from 5 o’clock to 7 o’clock in the evening on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.Rose was born on October 3, 1935, in Hereford, TX to David and Bertha (Grey) Curry. She married Freddy Watson on August 2, 1962, in Amarillo, TX; he preceded her in death in 1992. Rose was an active member of First Assembly of God Church. She had a true Christian’s heart. She was a big part of the bus ministry and taught Sunday School. Rose gave countless people rides to church. Rose worked for the Amarillo Globe News and eventually for Moore County News Press where she retired from. She was very proud when she was inducted to the Panhandle Press Association Hall of Fame. Rose loved reading and quilting. Rose loved pranking her family and friends and was also very witty.In addition to her husband, Freddy, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.Rose is survived by grandchildren: Becky Richerson from Fairfield, TX, Kayla Walden and husband Marcus of Skellytown, TX, Kendra Humble of Skellytown, TX, Shane Gutierrez of Skellytown, TX; great-grandchildren: Jacob, Garrett, and Emma along with numerous other nieces and nephews.
