Samuel David Rev. Mares

Rev. Samuel David Mares, 75 of Dumas, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10 oclock in the morning on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Templo Elim Asamblea de Dios. Interment will follow at Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Samuel was born on September 16, 1945 in Mexico to Victor and Petra (Avila) Mares. He was united in marriage to Luz Sanchez on March 18, 1971 in Mexico. He was a longtime resident of Dumas and was one of the Pioneers of Templo Elim. He was the pastor for 5 years and co-pastor for many years. Samuel loved the Lord and dedicate his life to bringing others to salvation. His favorite hobbies were camping and fishing. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Rev. Victor Mares, Velia Salinas, and Aurelio Avila. Samuel is survived by his wife, Luz, of the home; children: Samuel Mares and wife Leticia of Castle Rock, CO, Saul Mares and wife Laura of Dumas, TX, Juan Mares and wife Robin of Amarillo, TX, Ana Renteria and husband Vicente of Amarillo, TX and Ezequiel Mares and wife Virginia of Dumas, TX; sisters: Berta Mendoza of Dumas, TX and Esther Caldaron of Amarillo, TX; 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
