Shirley Laurent

Shirley Laurent, 84 of Dalhart, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Shirley was born on May 5, 1941, in Anna, TX to J.D, and Flourine (Abraham) Totty. She married James Laurent on September 26, 1958, and the couple had just celebrated 67 years of marriage. Shirley worked as a special education teacher in Sunray where she and James made their home before moving to Dalhart for the last 15 years. Shirley enjoyed traveling and especially traveling to Red River to ski. She attended First Baptist Church in Dalhart.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and one son.

Shirley is survived by her husband, James of the home; daughter: Cindy Stone; grandson: Roberty Lemley and wife Sisa; granddaughter: Jade Stone; 5 great grandchildren; brother: Jerry Totty: brother-in-law Mike Laurent along with several nieces and nephews.
