Strelsa Cashion

Strelsa Cashion, 96, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Dr. Keith Wiseman, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Strelsa Cashion was born December 17, 1912 in Coalinga, California to Precious Pearl and Kathy May Witherspoon. She was a graduate of Dumas High School and was a member of the basketball team. On March 20, 1932 she married John Cashion in Dumas. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1991. She worked for VIs Alterations for many years and grew beautiful roses. She loved her cat, Alise, small children and babies. Mrs. Cashion had been a resident of Dumas most of her life and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include; daughters, Mary Nell Johnson and husband B.W. of Houston, Jean OGrady of Roundrock; son, Jerry Cashion and wife, Jo Ellen of Niceville, FL; grandchildren, Karen OGrady, John OGrady, Erika OGrady, Bruce Johnson, Susan Wilson, Steve Cashion and Chris Cashion; and nine great-grandchildren.
