Terry was born on October 23, 1959, in Dumas, Texas, to Paul Spruell and Jewel Rita Cowdrey. He grew up with deep Texas roots and graduated from Dumas High School in 1978, a milestone that marked the beginning of a life shaped by hard work, service, and the pursuits he loved most.

Terry worked for Contel and Valor Telephone Company, building a career through dedication and steady effort. He later went to work for Hutchinson County as a jailer where until retirement. He also gave generously of himself in public service. He served with the Dumas Volunteer Fire Department and later as Fritch Fire Chief, continuing his commitment through volunteer fire department service. Those roles reflected a man willing to step forward for his community and to serve others with courage and dependability.

Outside of work and service, Terry embraced life with enthusiasm. He loved golf, guns and knives, hockey, and NASCAR. An avid outdoorsman, he found great enjoyment in fishing and hunting. These interests were not passing hobbies, but enduring parts of who he was, bringing him satisfaction, challenge, and connection to the world around him.

Above all, Terry’s daughter, Brittney, was his life. That devotion stood at the center of his heart and remains one of the clearest expressions of the love he carried throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Paula Jo Everly, Bill Spruell, Debbie and Jack Peterson.

Terry is survived by his daughter: Brittney Worrell and husband Zachary of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Charleigh and Robin Worrell; sister: Suzie Bradberry and husband Ray of Canyon, TX; nieces and nephews: Tamra, Phillip, Dawn, Donnie Joe, Tasha and many great nieces and nephews.
