Thomas Michael Ray

Thomas Michael Ray, 68 formerly of Dumas, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 o’clock in the morning on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Seth Seale, pastor of Bible Baptist Church in Sunray, officiating. Interment will follow in Dumas Cemetery under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Michael was born on September 10, 1956, in Dumas, TX to Charlie and Marguerete (Patrick) Ray. He grew up in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 1975. Michael worked for American Beef and later JBS where he held several positions including Kill Floor Supervisor retiring after 44 years of service. Michael married Marsha on May 8, 1985, in Dumas. He enjoyed playing softball in his younger years, enjoyed collecting sports cards and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife Marsha; son: Robbie Murrah; siblings: Harold Ray, Bobby Ray, Dale Golden, Geraldine Hulet and Charles Dwight Ray.

Michael is survived by his sons: John Murrah and wife Alice of Amarillo, TX, Mike Ray and wife Francesca of Roswell, NM and Anthony Ray and wife Brandi of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren: Kyla, Storeme, Hanna, J.T., Holly, Elijah, Reaghan, Rebekah, Makayla, Joe, Cole and Alyson; siblings: Betty Hawthorne of Killeen, TX, Kenneth Ray and wife Jonnie of Pampa, TX and Keith Ray and wife Maxine of Amarillo, TX along with numerous other extended family members.
