Thomas Luther Reed

Thomas Luther Reed, 87 of Spearman, Texas passed away Friday July 2, 2021, at his home with his Family by his side. A private Family service will be held. Thomas was born July 20,1933 in Kingsmill, Texas. He was a member of the USA Army and stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. This is where he met and married Rita Gardner on December 19,1954. During this marriage they had 5 children. Thomas, Rita and their 4 oldest children moved to Spearman, Texas in 1963, and he began work for Junior Lusby Cats as a diesel mechanic and retired from there in July of 1998. After moving to Spearman, they had their 5th child. Dad said he wanted a Texan like him! He is survived by his wife of 66 years Rita of Spearman, son John Reed of Spearman, Daughters Judy Reed of Fritch, Joann Schneider and husband Ken of Spearman, Jackie Nelson of Spearman and Janet Williams and husband Todd of Gruver, sister Mary King of Amarillo, sister-in-law Wanda Reed of Spearman. 9 Grandkids, 21 Great Grandkids and 5 Great-Great Grand kids. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Irene Reed, 2 brothers, Truman Reed, and Donald Reed.
