Thomas Wayne Swisher, a beloved member of his family and community, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Dumas, Texas. Born on December 8, 1951, in Ulysses, Kansas, Thomas journeyed through life with deep roots in his family and a strong work ethic.

His early years were spent following his family as they navigated the demands of his father’s work, eventually settling in Keyes, Oklahoma, when he was in the fourth grade. This small town became the backdrop for many cherished memories. In 1970, Thomas welcomed his son, Wesley Swisher, into the world in Dodge City, Kansas. The family later moved to Hugoton, KS where Thomas built a dedicated career as a welder after initially working for Strickland Construction.

As time progressed, Thomas returned to his hometown of Keyes in his senior years, where he continued to nurture the relationships that mattered most to him. He found great joy in spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren. His legacy will live on through his loved ones, including his son Wesley Swisher and his wife April of Sweetwater, Oklahoma, as well as his sister Cheryl Droste of Ford, Kansas.

Thomas's grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life, include Breauna Swisher of Elk City, Oklahoma; Taylor Herzberg and her husband Jason of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Corbin Swisher and his wife Kaylynn of Wheeler, Texas; Aspen Weber and her husband Garron of Borger, Texas; and Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandchilden Kaydence, Brazyn, Jaxton, Ryatt, Preslee, Kimber, and Harlynn.

Thomas Wayne Swisher will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his work ethic, and the joy he found in the simple moments spent with those he cherished. His impact on the lives of his family and friends will be lasting, and he will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:30 A.M. at the Methodist Church in Keyes, OK. A time of fellowship and lunch will be held immediately after.
