Tommy Ray Ewers

Tommy Ray (Tucker) Ewers, 60, of Stratford, passed away Wednesday, December 26, 2018. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the Stratford County Barn with Grady Burkhalter officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors. Tucker was born April 9, 1958 in Rocky Ford, CO to Everette and Dixie (De Vorss) Ewers. He made Texas his lifetime home and was a self-employed contractor for Faria Brothers Dairy in Cactus, TX, for many years. Tucker had a very outgoing and caring personality. His humorous side came through as everyone he met was called 'Crackerhead'. Tucker was very fond of his nieces and nephews and continued his caring for children by contributing to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Tucker also loved to ride and be around horses, but his true love was being a fan of the Dallas Cowboys football team. Tucker will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his father, Everette R. Ewers, and two sisters, Theresa Ann and Terry Lee Ewers. Tucker is survived by his mother: Dixie Ewers of Stratford; brothers; Jerry Ewers and wife Margaret of Stratford and John Ewers and wife Jennifer of Kenton, OK: daughter; Mary Kurtz and husband Erik of Stratford and granddaughter; Keely (Sweetsie) Kurtz of Stratford: he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many family and friends.
