Victor Ruben Hernandez

Victor Ruben Hernandez 66 of Cactus passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 o’clock in the evening on Sunday, September 20, 2026. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 o’clock in the afternoon on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Cactus with Father Juan Carlos Barragan, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors.

Victor was born on February 11, 1960, to Jose Mario Hernandez and Mercedes Murillo in El Porvenir, Chihuahua, Mexico. In 1978, Victor married Lucia Trevino, beginning a union that became an important part of his life story.

Victor will be remembered as a man who worked with his hands and took pride in being able to repair what was broken. He enjoyed welding and mechanics, and he was known as someone who could fix just about anything. That practical skill, along with the care and attention he brought to it, was a meaningful part of who he was and how others knew him. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and always made everyone laugh.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Mario Hernandez, and his brother, Ramiro Hernandez.

Victor is survived by his wife, Lucia of the home; children: Victor Hernandez, Jr. and wife Brittany of Denton, TX, Aida Peña and husband Anthony of Canyon, TX, Izak Hernandez and wife Aracely of Dalhart, TX; mother: Mercedes Murillo; grandchildren: Desi Hernandez, Hanna Rankin, Triston, Peña, Myli Hernandez, Rycel Hernandez, Zane Rees, Kazlynn Hernadez, Emilia Hernandez; great-grandchildren: Samuel Peña, Micheal Peña, Amiri Hernandez, Landon Rankin; 10 brothers and sisters.
