Wayne Carrell

Wayne Carrell, 71, of Dumas, died Monday, October 23, 2006, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at 4:00 PM in Dumas Cemetery with Rev. Philip Hilton, pastor of Sunray Baptist Church, officiating. Flag detail will be by American Legion Post 224. Mr. Carrell was born May 13, 1935, in Cooper, TX to Edward and Estelle Carrell. He was an Army veteran and had lived in Moore County since 1945. On November 22, 1962, he married Thressa Ellard in Sunray. In 1979, he became the owner of Gear Drive Services in Sunray and was still actively involved in the business. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gene Carrell. Survivors include his wife, Thressa Carrell of the home; two sons, David Carrell and wife Jodi and Kelly Carrell and wife Kelly all of Dumas; one daughter, Delana Hays and husband, Kelly of Dumas; sixteen grandchildren, Travis Quirk, Jeffery Quirk, John Carrell, Daniel Carrell, Sarah Carrell, Stephen Carrell, Gregory Carrell, Chad Robinett, Cole Robinett, Kaitlin Sullivan, Kyler Sullivan, Josh Warton, Jason Hays, John Hays, Jesse Hays and Jeremy Hays and one brother, Marlyn Carrell. The family will be at 601 Forrest in Dumas.
