William Glenn Dean

William Glenn Dean, 66 of Stratford, died Wednesday, January 23, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon at First Baptist Church in Stratford with Tommie Long officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors of Stratford. William was born on October 28, 1952 in Winston Salem North Carolina. He had been a resident of Stratford for 35 years where he worked for A & I Parts for 5 years and Stratford Feed Yard for over 15 years. He was united in marriage to Merlene on December 5, 1985 in Stratford. As a young man in South Carolina, William broke horses and competed in Futurity/Maturity Competitions. William had a great love for music and as a young man he walked from South Carolina to New York and attended Woodstock. He walked many miles across the country until he found his home in Stratford. William loved to cook for his family and friends, loved his pets, garden, loved to fish and just have a good time. Above all, he adored his children and grandchildren. William was an amazing father, pawpaw and husband. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Adam Dean. William is survived by: his wife, Merlene; son, Christopher Huereca of Temecula, CA; daughter, Lacey Correll and husband Andrew of Groom, TX; son, Coy Augustus Dean of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Tucker, Treyten and Tate; several nieces and nephews.
