Wilma Loise Ireland

It is with great sadness that the family of Wilma Loise Ireland announce her passing on February 3, 2021 at the age of 91. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2 oclock in the afternoon on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Morrison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Robbie Ashlock of Family Life Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Stratford Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 oclock to 8 oclock in the evening on Friday at the funeral home in Dumas. Arrangements are under the direction of Beeson ~ Morrison Funeral Directors. Wilma was born on September 9, 1929 to Lindsey and Flora Toler Brown in Tyronza, AR. She married Junior Ireland on December 19, 1949. They raised 4 children and ultimately settled in Stratford, TX. Known for her fast potato peeling skills, delicious pies, and hard work, Wilma ran an immaculate home and maintained an award-winning lawn. She could often be seen buzzing around town in her beloved Chevy Nova or little Ford Ranger. Wilma, more affectionately known as "Granny", enjoyed spending time with her family, country music, and ice cream. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 sisters, Julie Laws, Clara Hilt, and Hazel Caples, seven brothers, Leonard, Charles, Hubert "Chick", Barney, Bill, Edward "Doc", and Lee Brown, 2 granddaughters and 1 great grandson. She is survived by her children; Dale Ireland of Dumas, TX, Connie Kiefer and her husband Montie of Amarillo, TX, Tommy Ireland and wife Teresa of Dumas, TX, Gale Sims and her husband Larry of Stratford, TX, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; sisters: Geneva Anderson and husband Bill of Pocahontas, AR, Linda Stokes and husband Jim of Jacksonville, FL, Marie Ringhofer of Jacksonville, FL, and Ruth Phillips of Middleton, FL; brother: Ronald Brown of Jacksonville, FL. The family suggests memorials be made to Family Life Church, 3900 SW 58th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79110. The family asks, with gratitude, everyone to please wear their mask when attending the visitation and service.
